With this thematic focus, they go in line with the exhibition Let There Be Light of British artist duo Semiconductor, which is shown at HeK during the Art Basel week.

This phenomenon also causes difficulties in art: What happens to net art once the internet environment for which it was conceived has changed? Should artworks which were once developed for the PC be shown on an iPad?

Hidden/Obvious
The world is full of obvious things that we are aware of and yet do not experience consciously – from the constant blinking of the eyes to our perception being shaped by media or the invisible structures that control our social lives. The chosen positions reflect these structures and expose them in their artistic transformation, at best even in a twofold manner: They open our eyes to the „hidden obvious“, yet also the „obviously hidden“ that  surrounds us constantly.

Sensing Place. Mediatizing the Urban Landscape

Sensing Place engages with urban developments, new digital infrastructure and municipal space concepts. Transformed perceptions of urban space due to our data-oriented society is a significant aspect of the exhibition. Neighborhoods are no longer experienced by foot, but are constructed through access via Smartphone or other new media technologies. The exhibition seeks to address this reconfiguration of the public space by means of an increasing overlap of the digital spheres of information and geographical reality.
