Come and see our permanent visitors at the Kunstfreilager Dreispitz: „A Band of Floating Mushrooms“ by Monica Studer and Christoph van den Berg is a group of gigantic mushrooms, 6.5 meters in height, installed on the rooftop next to the House of Electronic Arts. The mushrooms are metaphors for urban change – just like the one we are currently witnessing at the Dreispitz site.

Electrical Walks Basel. Electromagnetic Soundwalks at Dreispitz and Inner City Basel
In "Electrical Walks", Christina Kubisch renders the invisible networks of electromagnetic signals audible. "Electrical Walks Basel" was commissioned by the House of Electronic Arts and realized by the artist for the exhibition Sensing Place. Mediatizing the Urban Landscape. Basel's hidden electromagnetic phenomena are uncovered by two walks - one takes part in the inner city of Basel, the other is at the Dreispitz site.

As of autumn 2013, part of our venue at the Dreispitz site will be under construction. Until HeK's reopening in 2014, we have received the opportunity to use the Keck Kiosk at Basel's Kasernenareal as a showcase for our institution in the town centre. For HeK@Keck Kiosk, young Swiss artists are invited to develop experimental projects especially for this showcase.

Urban Sounds
Urban Sounds is a series of events and exhibitions that explore the urban space by means its own acoustical, tonal and musical implications. The main focus lies on current tensions of regional cultural identity which has developed over the last century in the trinational region as well as global identity due to internationalization and migration.
With installations, talks, concerts, workshops and interventions in the urban space, different perspectives and creative approaches will be brought into focus on four weekends in autumn.

Regionale 14
At the annual Regionale, the House of Electronic Arts Basel exhibits art from the trinational region together with 15 institutions from Basel, Muttenz, Riehen and Liestal, from Strasbourg, Mulhouse and Hégenheim, from Freiburg im Breisgau and Weil am Rhein.
